CARE, PRECAUTIONS, & SAFETY TIPS

~ UTILIZATION & PRECAUTIONS ~

Whether sitting in the living room, reading a book, and sipping a hot beverage; reorganizing your closet on a rainy afternoon; or cooking in the kitchen surrounded by family and friends ... Let’s be real, candles create an ambiance! A candle can honestly "make or break" a room. They can be relaxing, romantic, enjoyable, peaceful and purposeful. However, candles must always be utilized with care and responsibility. A little common sense can go a long way and keep you and loved ones safe!

Candle wicks should be trimmed to 1/4 inch each time the candle is lit after the first burn. If not trimmed properly, the tip of the wick can “mushroom,” causing excessive flickering and/or smoke. Also, when candle wicks are not trimmed properly, the wick can curl into the wax, causing an uneven burn. Therefore, it is important to maintain proper candle wick size, and always remember to exercise extreme caution whenever burning a candle!

One option to clean and repurpose your candle vessel, is to place the vessel in warm water to soften any remaining wax and wick, carefully removing the insides with a paper towel (Carefully ~ the vessel and wax can be hot). After the insides are removed, then wash with warm water and soap. Do not pour candle wax down plumbing drain, as this can clog your pipes. Your candle vessel is now ready to be repurposed/reused for jewelry, beauty products, candy jars, pencil holders, makeup containers, and much more!

~ SAFETY TIPS ~

  1. Read and carefully follow any instructions.
  2. Remove and discard all tags and ties prior to burning candle.
  3. Candles should be used by adults only.
  4. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  5. Never leave a burning candle unattended or near anything that could catch fire.
  6. Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and open windows.
  7. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and/or matches.
  8. Candles should not be burned for longer than a 4hr period.
  9. Keep wick trimmed to ¼ inch.
  10. Never touch or move a candle when the wax is liquid. The melted wax is hot!
  11. A candle snuffer is a safe and efficient way to extinguish a candle.
  12. Candles should only be burned in rooms with smoke detectors.
